Forest Fire Near Langenfeld
A 50-hectare area burned between Langenfeld and Langscheid. Netterhöfe was evacuated.
Fire Development
On Friday, 21 August 2026, a fire broke out between the villages of Langenfeld and Langscheid in the Mayen-Koblenz district on a 50-hectare forest and meadow area. SWR reports(öffnet in neuem Tab). The blaze stayed out of control at first.
Firefighters brought the fire under control. Residents returned home.
Affected Places
In the district of Netterhöfe, 20 to 25 houses were cleared. Tagesschau states(öffnet in neuem Tab) this figure. Sirens also warned in Langenfeld and Arft. Evacuation there did not take place.
Rain aided the final hot spots. Checks continued.
Current Status

No further evacuations followed. The situation stabilized.
