Operator and Line
The S 6 is operated by the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr. Infrastructure belongs to Deutsche Bahn. Both facts follow from the cited Rheinische Post report.
The measure concerns only the Düsseldorf to Köln-Mülheim segment. Other parts of the S 6 remain unaffected for now.
Impact on Langenfeld
Commuters from Langenfeld reach Cologne only with a change. Journey times increase. Monheim faces the same issue. The Rheinische Post provides no replacement timetables.
The report contains no information on replacement buses or alternative routes. Those details stay open.
Separate reports cover further closures on the A 3 near Solingen.
