Langenfeld (Rhld) faces replacement bus services on the S6 line as of 3 September 2026. The SEV S6 runs between Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof and Langenfeld as well as between Langenfeld and Köln-Mülheim. The change stems from construction work linked to Gamescom.
Current timetable situation
Replacement buses stand in for regular S6 trains on the affected sections. Passengers change at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof as usual. The stop in Langenfeld remains unchanged.
Affected routes
All S6 services between Düsseldorf and Langenfeld operate by bus. The same applies to the stretch toward Köln-Mülheim. The arrangement appears on the Rhine-Ruhr transport authority pages.
Duration of restrictions
No end date for the SEV S6 has been set. Updates arrive only after construction ends. Status reports shift solely when the measure lifts completely.
Additional lines
Extra trains run on the RE5 route. The SEV RE5 departs from the long-distance bus platform at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof. Langenfeld sees no direct impact from this service.
