Public Announcements from the City of Langenfeld
The Langenfeld city administration has released several important updates for residents at the beginning of June 2026. These concern construction works, traffic changes and opportunities for citizen participation in municipal projects.
Current Construction Projects
Renovation work on Hauptstraße in the city center will begin on 5 June 2026. The project aims to renew the road surface and improve accessibility. The works are expected to last until the end of July. Detours are signposted.
Additionally, the playground at the market square is being modernized. New equipment and improved lighting will increase safety. Completion is scheduled for September 2026.
Traffic Regulations
Due to the city festival on 14 June 2026, parts of the city center will be closed. Buses on line 255 will use alternative routes. The city encourages drivers to switch to public transport.
Citizen Participation
The city invites residents to a public meeting on 10 June 2026 at the town hall. The topic is the future use of the former railway site. Interested parties can register by 8 June.
