Check water extraction ban and report violations
On 1 August 2026 one checks the rules on the Langenfeld city site using Chrome 128.
On 1 August 2026 one opens Chrome version 128 and visits the page https://www.langenfeld.de/wasser(öffnet in neuem Tab). Skipping this step means the current prohibition dates stay unknown and later reports risk rejection for wrong reference periods.
Review rules on the city site
Scroll to the general order dated 31 July 2026. It runs until 30 September 2026 and bans extraction from flowing waters. Omitting this check can cause the order office to class the report incomplete.
The page also lists a restriction on groundwater extraction across the municipal area. A 250 euro warning fee applies on first offence as stated under point 4.
Document observations
Photograph the extraction site with a smartphone and note time plus exact address. The image must show the device and the water. Without the photo the order office rejects the report in 60 percent of cases according to internal city statistics.
Use the built-in camera app on current iOS or Android without filters. Cutting corners here leaves unusable evidence later.
Complete the online form
Switch to the form at https://www.langenfeld.de/meldung(öffnet in neuem Tab) and select the entry “water extraction”. The form exists in version 3.2. Enter name, address and contact details. Leaving out the time field triggers automatic rejection.
The city requires a description of at least 80 characters. Shorter texts are not processed.
Upload attachment and submit
Upload the photo as a JPG under 5 MB. The system accepts only files that carry EXIF date data. Failing to upload the photo triggers an email query and delays handling by at least five working days.
Check confirmation
Open the inbox and look for the subject line “Report receipt water 2026-08”. The message contains a case number. If the mail is missing after two hours the process must be restarted because the system occasionally produces delivery errors.
Telephone follow-up when no answer arrives
After three working days call the order office at 02173 950-450. Calls are accepted only on weekdays between 8 and 12. Outside these hours the call goes unanswered and the file stays untouched.
A frequent mistake is forgetting the case number during the call. The office cannot retrieve the status and refers to a new written request.
