On 19 September 2026 a major exercise took place in Langenfeld. Around 100 emergency personnel from all volunteer units of the Langenfeld fire department trained together with Malteser Hilfsdienst on handling an explosion in a hardware store followed by mass casualty rescue.
Exercise sequence
The forces trained under realistic conditions. The scenario involved an explosion with extensive human rescue. All volunteer units of the Langenfeld fire department participated.
Participating organisations
The Langenfeld fire department provided the volunteer units. Malteser Hilfsdienst added rescue staff.
